Advocacy is simply the process of creating changes by letting people in power know what you think. People who have been elected or appointed to public office are never experts on every issue. They usually rely on people from their communities to help them learn about problems and make changes.
You have tremendous power to help make changes happen in this community. It is the people who show up who often have the most impact on policy. So few residents participate in our political process that if only two or three community members speak in favor of an issue at a public meeting, their voice will most certainly be heard.
